Call for Papers - Communications Forum

This is an annual event dealing with an unlimited range of communications issues, including telecoms, broadcasting, media, Internet, journalism and more. 

The Forum has become a major annual event, open to all viewpoints. It is a national gathering of people with a serious interest in media and communications. The attendance has grown by over 40 per cent in each of the last two years.  In 2007 there were 75 speakers or authors, in 23 sessions.

Presenters are welcome to propose a talk, paper or presentation by the deadline of 23 May. Deadlines are as follows:

23 May:        Deadline for abstracts/proposals
19 July:        The program will be published
29-30 Sept: The Forum happens, at UTS, Broadway, Sydney
Venue:         Guthrie Theatre and precinct, UTS
Cost:           $450.00 per person, including lunch and refreshments for 2 days.

Areas to be featured include:
•    Digital television, radio and online media
•    Telecoms and media economics, structures
•    Quality of journalism in new and old media
•    Mobile and wireless networks and cultures
•    User-led innovation and DIY media forms
•    Internet communities, worlds, blogs and wikis
•    Broadband, uses, users and infrastructure
•    Consumer preferences and needs among the new platforms
